


A Bit About The Founder
Trina Govan Scott is a senior executive, board leader, and trusted advisor whose career spans enterprise audit, advisory consulting, and human capital strategy, paired with a strong record of nonprofit governance and civic engagement.
She began her career in internal audit for healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, where she developed deep expertise in internal controls, risk awareness, and disciplined execution. She later advanced her advisory work at Ernst & Young (EY), counseling clients in highly regulated industries through complex matters that required rigor, stakeholder alignment, and executive level judgment. Trina is a Certified Fraud Examiner and brings strength in ethics, investigations, and governance systems that protect institutional integrity.
Trina has held senior executive leadership positions at Rock Family of Companies guiding organizational culture, leadership accountability, and community partnership strategy. Her work has consistently focused on aligning people, performance, and public trust while helping institutions navigate growth and change.
She is an alumna of Oakland University with a degree in Finance and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Oakland University Board of Trustees and as a member of the Board’s Audit Committee, where she helps oversee financial stewardship, enterprise risk, and accountability. Trina’s board portfolio reflects her commitment to expanding opportunity and strengthening communities. She serves organizations advancing women’s leadership (Inforum Michigan, International Women’s Forum), cancer advocacy (American Cancer Society), college and career pathways, and youth development (College Career & Beyond, First Tee Greater Detroit). Across these roles, she is recognized for elevating governance practices, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and connecting mission to measurable outcomes.
In addition, Trina is the founder of Cultural Communications LLC, a strategic advisory practice that supports executives and boards with governance effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, leadership strategy, and executive coaching.
